Tube construction - Your choice of 2 quality fabrics

Super tough 1.20mm, 1100 denier PVC

Denier is a unit of fineness of a thread. The higher the denier the thicker the threads which makes for a tougher material.
We choose to use 1100 denier intertwined polyester fibre with a double sided PVC coating that makes up the construction of our heavy duty 1.2mm PVC fabrics.

or

Super touch 1.00mm Hypalon

Hypalon chlorosulfonated polyethylene shows its true strength when exposed to high temperatures and oxidizing
chemicals. It resists flex cracking and abrasion as well as the damaging effects of weather, UV/ozone, heat and chemicals.
Hypalon is the most ideal fabric for production of inflatable boats for its high performance, durability and long life span.

Standard four-layered reinforced seams

Our seams are made with 4 layers of material. 2 sheets of material overlapping one before the reinforcement layers are applied to each side of the seam which will create 4 times the strength of our already strong hull materials.

Front Cone / Deck / Transom

- Fibreglass one-piece construction
- Foam filled core
- Non-skid floor and front deck

- Quick drain transom

Propeller Choice

Your choice of propeller is crucial to the performance of your boat and motor. Due to the high performance of Takacat catamaran hulls most standard propellers will not provide you with the best performance. Propeller choice can be a tricky business. Unlike a car your outboard doesn't have gears so as your load and sea conditions change so does the need of your prop.

Before choosing a prop it's a good idea to think what your main activities, sea conditions and loads will be. For instance, there is no point in getting a prop which is like starting in fourth gear if you plan mainly to push heavy loads which require first gear. It just won't work and you will need a lower gear like first or second.

Feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements or talk with your local prop shop.

Through much testing we have found Solas Propellers a very good match for Takacat hulls with their "New Saturn" range working extremely well. For light loads we suggest using the same or -1 pitch from your standard pitched propeller, for medium loads we suggest dropping 1 - 2 pitches and for heavier loads we suggest dropping 1 - 2 pitches. For example a 30hp normally has a 12pitch prop which is fine if it's only going to be used by 1 or 2 people (depending on their size and weight). However, if most of the time there will be say 3 people and or you want to tow a a water skiier then you would be best getting a 10pitch prop cupped. This will give you better low end tork but less top end speed.
